CFAU has set up in succession some major disciplines accredited with the power to confer Ph.D., MA, ML, BA and BL degrees, such as International Relations, International Politics, Diplomacy, International Economy, English Language and Literature, Foreign Linguistics and Applied Linguistics, etc.

   The University has sponsored scores of national and international symposiums covering such a wide range of topics as Mao Zedong’s Thoughts on Diplomacy, the Changing Scenario of World Economy and Politics and the US Foreign Policies, the Return of Hong Kong and Macao to the Motherland, the Security of the Asia-Pacific Region, the 21st Century and China, Post-Cold War International Relations, China’s 50-Year Diplomacy, Strengthening China’s Relations with Developing Countries, the Teaching and Studies of International Law, the Course Development of International Relations, China-Egypt Relations, the Establishment of Diplomatic Relations between China and Russia, Retrospect and Prospect of Security in East Asia Region, Overall Partnership between China and Europe, East Asia Investment Forum, Globalization and France in Transformation, etc.

    Many monographs and coursebooks by CFAU teachers have been published, such as History of Contemporary International Relations, History of Modern Diplomacy of China, Diplomatic Documentation, Deng Xiaoping’s Art of Diplomacy, An Introduction to Diplomacy, China and the USA, China’s Diplomacy: A New Presentation, US China Policy and the Issue of Taiwan, Studies of Legal Issues on Multimodal Transportation of International Goods, Fourteen Lessons on Communication, Economic Diplomacy, etc.
The University-run Foreign Affairs Review—Journal of China Foreign Affairs University has been rated as “National Excellent Journal for Social Sciences”, “National Core Journal for Humanities and Social Sciences”, “Famous Journal for Humanities and Social Sciences of Beijing Higher Learning Institutions”.
