CFAU shall expand its operations on a moderate scale to meet the growing needs of the country for talents in the foreign service sector. ?The Foreign Ministry has paid special attention to the construction of CFAU’s new campus, located in the University Town on the northern suburbs of Beijing, demanding that CFAU take the project proposal and the actual construction of the new campus first thing amongst a host of priorities to be taken care of.The proposal for building a new campus has already been approved by the state council. The new campus, upon completion, shall see an increase of its student population up to 7,500 strong.The expansion of its scale of operation shall be advantageous to lending support to the economic growth of China by capitalizing fully on China’s rich diplomatic personnel resources.

   The goal of CFAU is to develop itself into a first class institution with Chinese characteristics to the outside world and with diplomatic characteristics to its domestic peers; in other words, CFAU aspires to attain to first class level among its kind in the world, while at home, it shall give prominence to features such as can only be achieved by none of its kind other than CFAU under the direction of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. In compliance with the guidelines of “orientating its work to the world and the future”, CFAU shall draw up a long-term plan, making a global design. China Foreign Affairs University shall, under the guidance of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, seize hold of the opportunity, and move boldly ahead in our efforts to bring up high calibre, foreign language speaking professionals for our country.
